Saint Stephen's Basilica, Budapest, Hungary

Saint Stephen's Basilica, the largest church in Budapest, is dedicated to the first king of Hungary. It houses the mummified right hand of Saint Stephen as a relic. The basilica started being built in 1851 and was inaugurated more than 50 years later, in 1906. It was originally designed in the neo-classical style but was ended in the neo-renaissance style. Its dome is 96 metres high.

Opening hours: Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Admission free, except for the dome (HUF 500, about €1.60)
