Quinta da Regaleira, Sintra, Portugal

Quinta da Regaleira Palace and Chapel were built between 1904 and 1910, according to plans laid down by Italian architect Luigi Manini. The wells- never intended as water sources- and grottoes are said to have been used for ceremonial rituals.
