Blue Grotto, Wied iz-Zurrieq, Malta

The Blue Grotto is located in the southern part of Malta in the village of Wied iz-Zurrieq, Qrendi. The name was given in the 1950s by the Brittish army personnel, since it looks like the Grotta Azzurra, in Capri.
The caves were created by centuries of persistent action of the waves and the elements.

How to get there: From La Valletta you can take bus 74 to Wield iz-Zurrieq (about 50 min.). Once there, you can buy tickets to visit the caves by boat. Note that bus 74 also passes by the Hagar Qim and Mnajdra Temples.
