Tarxien temples, Malta

The Tarxien Temples were built between 3600 and 2500BC and consist of four separate but related megalithic structures. They were discovered in 1913 by farmers and excavated between 1915 and 1920. Most of the findings were relocated indoors for protection, to the Archaeological Museum in Valletta. The temples are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
