Romantic Museum, Oporto, Portugal

The Romantic Museum is located close to the Crystal Palace Gardens, in Quinta da Macieirinha. The manor was built in the mid 18th century by a rich merchant from Oporto. In the 19th century Charles Albert, king of Sardinia, spent his last days in exile here, where he died from tuberculosis in 1849. He was the grandfather of the Portuguese queen D. Maria Pia.
The museum was inaugurated in 1972 and copies a bourgeois home of the 19th century, equipped with furniture, decorative objects and utensils from the period.
There are occasional folklore shows.
